As the Founder and CEO of SideChannel, Brian built a cybersecurity company from the ground up in Shrewsbury, helping organizations protect their most critical assets. Under his leadership, SideChannel has grown into a multi-million-dollar & trusted provider of cybersecurity solutions, serving businesses across industries and securing national defense initiatives. His ability to take complex problems, develop solutions, and execute with precision has driven SideChannel’s success and positioned it as an industry leader.
Before launching SideChannel, Brian served as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Hanover Insurance, where he led the company’s cybersecurity strategy, ensuring the protection of sensitive data and financial systems. His experience at the highest levels of corporate security gives him a deep understanding of risk management, governance, and responsible decision-making—skills that directly translate to effective town leadership.
Brian’s leadership extends beyond the private sector. He has Federal government experience working within the Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC), tackling national security challenges and implementing strategies that protect our country. His background managing large-scale government programs and working within highly regulated environments demonstrates his ability to navigate complex issues, build consensus, and deliver results.
Brian Haugli is a proud graduate of Morrisville State College in upstate New York, where he earned his bachelor’s degree and developed the strong foundation that has propelled his career. Attending a state college taught him the value of hard work, perseverance, and resourcefulness—qualities that have defined his leadership in business and governance. Morrisville’s hands-on, practical education prepared Brian to tackle real-world challenges, whether in the corporate sector, national defense, or now, in public service. His journey from a state college graduate to a successful CEO and industry leader is a testament to his dedication, problem-solving ability, and commitment to excellence—traits he will bring to the Shrewsbury Select Board.
A Boy Scout and proud Eagle Scout, Brian learned early on the values of leadership, service, and integrity—principles that continue to guide him today. He is committed to bringing these same values to the Shrewsbury Select Board, ensuring that decisions are made with transparency, fiscal responsibility, and the best interests of the community in mind.
